The Glen Arden Elementary PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting Glen Arden Elementary School by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers.

WHAT THE PTO DOES
Fundraising
We host multiple fundraisers throughout the year, including a fund run, a read-a-thon, and coin wars. These fundraisers help us to continue supporting Glen Arden and the school community.
Volunteering
The PTO is a volunteer organization. Not only do we help to organize school events, but we also help put together classroom packets, clean and refresh classroom furniture, make copies and much more!
Teacher Appreciation
The PTO organizes monthly teacher appreciation events.
Teacher Grants
Twice a year the PTO provides grants to teachers and staff to ensure their classroom needs are met. In previous years we have provided an art scanner, scholastic news subscription, and piano lab headphones.
Building School Community
One of the most important jobs the PTO has is to build a thriving school community. We do this through helping parents to get involved in the classroom, community events, and monthly spirit nights.
Continuing Education
Furthering the professional development of our teachers is extremely important to the PTO. We strive to provide the resources to send our teachers to continuing education. Investing in our teachers is investing in our children.

Question: Do I need to attend meetings to be a part of the PTO?
Answer: No, meetings are not a requirement for membership. They are a great way to stay informed, so if you are unable to attend regular meetings we highly recommend signing up for our emails.
Question: How to do I become a volunteer?
Answer: First you would need to register and complete a background check with Volunteer Tracker. Once that has been completed you are welcome to join committees, sign up for volunteer opportunities with sign up genius or contact glenardenpto@gmail.com.
